Who is Nuno F.G. Loureiro, MIT professor shot dead at his Boston home?
Nuno F.G. Loureiro, MIT professor and director of the Plasma Science and Fusion Centre, was shot dead at his Brookline, Boston home. Loureiro, 47, was a native of Portugal who completed his undergraduate studies there, earned a doctorate in London, and conducted postdoctoral research at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. He joined MIT in 2016 as a professor of Physics and Nuclear Science and Engineering and led pioneering research in plasma physics and fusion energy until his death.
