The U.S. Department of Education reports significant FAFSA improvements for the 2026-27 cycle, with an early launch, higher student satisfaction, and faster customer support. The redesigned form, under the FAFSA Simplification Act, has expanded Pell Grant eligibility for 1.7 million more students. Fraud detection has also been refined to reduce false positives.
