Harvard FAS launches $100 million drive to stabilise PhD funding following admissions reductions across divisions

Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences has launched a $100 million fundraising drive to endow new PHD fellowships after cutting doctoral admissions across divisions. The initiative has raised $50 million in matching gifts from alumni donors and aims to create 50 fellowships. As reported by the Harvard Crimson, faculty raised concerns over timing and use of funds amid a $365 million structural deficit. Administrators said support could reach students as early as next academic year.
