Rayagada, Kalahandi declared free of Maoist influence
Odisha police have declared Rayagada and Kalahandi districts free from Maoist influence. This comes as a key Maoist leader and associates surrendered. Only a small area in Kandhamal district still has rebel presence. Operations are intensified to make the entire state Naxal-free by month-end. This marks a significant weakening of the Maoist movement in Odisha.
