Tamil Nadu polls 2026: For 1st time in 74 years, CPI & CPM left seatless in Kovai
For the first time in 74 years, the Left parties have not fielded candidates in any of Coimbatore's 10 assembly constituencies, ending a long electoral presence. This decision, attributed to seat-sharing within alliances, has surprised many in the industrial district. Despite the absence from the ballot, Left cadres are actively campaigning for their alliance partners to oppose pro-corporate policies.
