Bengal govt to bring law against syndicate extortion, protect businesses

Bengal's government is introducing legislation to shield legitimate businesses from syndicate extortion and informal demands, aiming to boost the investment climate. Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta announced the move, emphasizing its role in reducing business costs and enhancing investor confidence. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari reiterated the commitment to eradicating syndicate raj and improving law and order, promising a conducive environment for industry and job creation.
